Bearers of Plague

I went to Hillside Games on Tunnel Road the other day, looking to put up some advertisements for my painting services, and picked up some Plaguebearers of Nurgle, they being the only core unit of the Daemons of Chaos army i lacked. I must say that i really like the sculpting of the pewter dudes, much more so in person than just seeing them in photos online and such. However, i am rather puzzled as to why Nurgle's minions are the only ones who have yet to receive a plastic upgrade. True, Nurgle units are really handy in a fight, seeing as how they have a hard time with that whole dying deal, and thus i suppose they should be a little more expensive, but you can get a full 10 model unit of daemonettes, bloodletters, or pink horrors for the same price as 5 plaguebearers. i feel that Grandfather Nurgle deserves an upgrade, but the availability of the pewter plaguebearers shouldn't go away, because they look really nice. Like with the new Pink Horrors of Tzeentch, i like the new cheaper, more numerous plastic models and all, but the previous edition's pewter Horrors were by far the pinnacle of Tzeentch's glory. they were so beautifully made, and i want some. lots and lots of them.

regardless, i'll be painting up these Nurgle dudes in the next few days, making specific use of Delvan Mud and Rotting Flesh, and a nice Dead-Grey highlight to make them look more cadaver like than puke-covered as most other paintjobs portray. Corpses festering disease all grey and Lyme-y look creepier in my opinion.
