branching from the subject of metal figurines and the lack of updated Nurgle units, take a look at the old pewter Pink Horrors of Tzeentch as opposed to the new. Now, the new guys look cool, bringing some of Tzeentch's beloved (apparently) avian aspects to some of them, with the beaks and the feathers and lord have you, and they look pretty good. they are good quality sculpting, lightweight plastic, and look fairly true to the really really old pink horror models. all that praise being done, look at those previous edition pewter Horrors. just my opinion, but those guys are, in my eyes, THE PINNACLE OF MODELING BEAUTY! just look at the detail in the metal fuckers, how they are mutating before your eyes, embodying chaos itself! it's soooooo damn difficult to get a stationary, immobile sculpture to come alive with so much movement, and it's twice as difficult to do that on a miniature scale. i wish the pewter horrors were more available, because they are so fucking awesome. expensive in a money sense, but damn they would make good filler. like, use the plastic, more numerous Horrors for the bulk of the army's units, and use the metal dudes as units created by spells like Tzeentch's Firestorm.
Regardless, i hope that Nurgle's children get some plastic upgrades soon, but hopefully that upgrade won't be a step backwards like the poor Pink Horrors.
